TUItWESA WINS AMATEUR. BUNKERS MADE EASY. NEW YORK. September 17. Oiling the best exhibition of putting and blasting out of bunker* ever seen in a national tournament. Willie Turnesn, the 23-year-old Westchester player, defeated J'at Abbott, the California actorRolfer. by 8 and 7 in the final of the American amateur golf championship. 'I 11 in eon was bunkered 13 times, but got out cheaply by using a sand-wedge, a new club which many advocate should be barred. Turnesa is the youngest person ever to hold the title with the exception of Bobby Jones. He is a gardener's son and is one of eeven brothers, six of whom are golf professionals. He twice won the American inter-collegiate title.
