LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
Onehunga.— The Onehunga League of Mothers' annual flower ahow and cookery competition was held recently. Mrs. R. W. Kirkpatrick presided. Provincial officers, Mrs. English (president), Mrs. Utting (secretary) and Mrs. Silk (treasurer), were present. Mrs. English spoke briefly. Miss Manketelow gave a delightful talk on gardening Mrs Jefferv judged the floral exhibits and Mr Zuill the cookery. Mrs. Guy Blandford acted as steward, Mrs. Bissett as convener for the flower*, and Mrs. Billings for the cakes. Pr:zes were won by the following:—Flowers: Mesdames Potter, Kirkpatrick, Hankin. Bissett, Smvth, Glew, Ferguson, Lipscombe, Barnet't, Owens, Wadman, Sibbin, Gibb. Miller, McLaohlan, Simpson. Snowden, Chambers. Hunter. Children's section: Adele Kirkpatrick. Frances Rowlingson, Beverlv Sibbin, Joyce Lovatt, Gwen Miller," Kathleen Miller. Cookery: Mesdames H. Miller. Kirkpatrick, Buckley. Hollings, Lipscombe, Simpson, Bissett, Skilton, Cullen and Hunter. ParnelL— The Parnell branch of the League of Mothers met in the Knox Hall recently. In the absence of the president through illness, Mrs. J. McDowell presided. Amongst the visitors welcomed were Mrs. Patterson, president of the Roslyn branch, Mrs. S. O. English, provincial president, and visitors from Mount Eden and Epsom. Miss Grenfell Spencer was the speaker, her subject being a trip through America. Mrs. Arthur Bush sang and Mrs. Stewart accompanied her.
