Flight of Gold from Europe an
All-Time Record
COLOSSAL DIMENSIONS.
WASHINGTON, September 16
The Treasury acquired 285,000,000 dollars of gold in the first fortnight of September from Europe. Reserves reached the all-time record of 13,420,000.000 dollars.
An unofficial survey indicated that the flight of European capital to the United States had boosted foreign funds invested or banked here to almost 10,000,000,000 dollars.
