The tariffs ot private hotel* are to be increased, according to a resolution parsed at a meeting of the Caute.bury Private Hotel Proprietors' Association. 'I he resolution was as follows:—-"Owing lo futlhcr iiii-rensc* in wages, rates and cost of foodstuffs and materials, tli itssin iat ion. in company with other associations in tlie catering business, findit, nece«stirv to obtain additional revenue to meet these additional charye* and. with this objeit in view, it, resolves that all tariff* he imrcased accordingly."

The meetings pave full consideration t/» the provisions of the new award introduced on Septcmlicr 5, and it was agreed that the increase in wnjres and the restrictions on employees had forced employer* to con-ider seriously adjust merit* in staff arrangements.
