TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. j . —-— 1 GREY RIVERS RECOVER. j MARKET GENERALLY STEADY. 1 — « | (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star/') i CHRISTCHURCH, this day. ■ ' The chief feature of the call this morning on the Christcivureli Exchange was j | the recovery in the price of Grey River I shares, which at 14/ sold 1/ higher than ' laet week. The market closed firm, Id either side. In other respects very few altered quotations were made. The first sale was in New Zealand Breweries, which brought the unaltered price of £2 0/3. Buying support in the early sections wa« not strong and there wag no support for gas shares, Aucklands and Christchurch having sellers at 20/6 and 28/ I respectively. Miscellaneous industrial remained at yesterday's easier rates in almost all cases. One exception was W. R. Carpenters, for which buyers moved up 3d to 44/3 and sellers asked 48/. I Metals were steady, a sale of Mount I Lyells being close to yesterday's quotations. Mount Morgans were firm at 10/11 and more were wanted at that price. SALES RECORDED.
