The market closed firm, Id either side. In other respects very few altered quotations were made. The first sale was in New Zealand Breweries, which brought the unaltered price of £2 0/3. Buying support in the early sections wa« not strong and there wag no support for gas shares, Aucklands and Christchurch having sellers at 20/6 and 28/ I respectively. Miscellaneous industrial remained at yesterday's easier rates in almost all cases. One exception was W. R. Carpenters, for which buyers moved up 3d to 44/3 and sellers asked 48/. I Metals were steady, a sale of Mount I Lyells being close to yesterday's quotations. Mount Morgans were firm at 10/11 and more were wanted at that price. SALES RECORDED.
