Dullness persists on the Auckland Stock Lxchan«e and at the first call this morning only one sale was recorded, thi* being of Mount Lyells at 27/, a drop of , A moderate dema'r.- was in evidence, but there was little life in the bidding, and changes in quotations usually favoured buyer*.

The hanking section had little variation, but in insurances buyers for New Zealands moved up to 56/ ( with sellers 6d away. In the conl division Renowns were offered 3d lower at 9/6, buyers steady at Buj erg fnr Now Zealand Breweries were 6.1 down at 30/6, sellers asking 41/. Auckland Gas and Farmers' Trading were steady. Australian issues were generally weaker. Broken Hill Proprietary wrre on offer at Jjfi.O. willi no buyers, and G. J. Coles had a market between 77/ and 79/. In Government stocks buyers for 46-49's moved up to £100 17/6, and for March, 39-43's, to £100 5/, otherwise the section was unchanged. Business at Standstill. Business came to a standstill at the noon call and only two sajes were reported, Bank of New Zealands changing hands at £2 2/, unaltered, and Mount Morgans showing a penny rise at 10/11. Buyers came in at £2 1.3/9 for Broken Hill Proprietary. £2 6/ for British Tobaccos, and £46 15/ for Colonial Sugars, well below yesterday's offers in each case. G. J. Coles carna closer to business at the reduced level, with quotations from £3 18/ to £3 18/9. Banking, mining and other classified sections were practically unchanged. SALES COMPLETED.
