INSURANCE STAFFS.
SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE. XEW AWARD COXDITIOXS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLIXGTOX, Wednesday. Agreement has been reached in Conciliation Council in the Doinuiion insurance employees' dispute. The new award will closely follow the old one. It applies to employees earning up to £4.10 a year, wages being from £29 in the first six months to £340 in the 14th year for males, and to £170 in the seventh year for females. For female clerks in life office industrial departments the commencing salary is from £19 10/ at under 17 to £170 in the eighth year, the same as in the clerical workers'"award. Wage* come into effect on October 1. Hours are to be a week, worked from Monday to Friday.
