At a meeting of the executive of the Auckland Hoc-Key Association last evening a letter 'was received from the Manawatu Association regretting that, owing to sickness and injuries to its players it would be necessary to withdraw its challenge for the New Zealand Shield at present held by Auckland. Permission was granted the Mount Eden senior team to travel to Hamilton on Saturday, and to United to travel to Wiaiuku to play the Franklin representatives on Saturday week.
