REUNION PLANNED.
MOUNT ALBERT SCHOOL
PROGRAMME OUTLINED.
With the object of celebrating a reunion of the old scholars of Mount Albert school, an enthusiastic meeting of ex-pupils was held on Thursday evening, at which over 100 attended, one member coming from the Bay of Islands. Officials and committees were appointed and a programme was suggested. On the evening of Thursday, October 27, there will be a reunion under decade banners. Friday will be devoted to the present children, with a sports gala in the afternoon and a concert and display in the evening. On Saturday afternoon a large number of country ex-scholars is expected, while the reunion banquet will be held in the evening. The functions will be fittingly closed on Sunday afternoon with Divine service and special reference to those who fell in the Great War. The school, which was established in 1869, has a long and honourable career, and many of the city's leading citizens were once scholars. As old members are scattered all over New Zealand the names and addresses should be sent to the organiser-secre-tary, Mr. A. T. Dow, 130, Peary Road, Mount Eden. The reunion chairman is Mr. A. G. Taylor, Mr. W. W. Smith deputy, Mr. R. McGehan registrar, Mr. R. G. Parr honorary treasurer, and the following committees are now working—entertainment, programme, grounds, finance and publicity. It is proposed later to form an ex-pupils' association as the result of the gatherings.
