Dennes, commodore of the Heme Bay Club, who has taken a keen interest in the Sydney boats, states that the Sydney 18ft Sailing League will Bend four boats, together with 32 of their crews and eight officials, to Auckland about the second week in February. The league expresses regret that, as their boats will be competing in the Australian championships on January 22. 26, 29 and 30, they will not be able to take part In the Auckland Anniversary Regatta on January 29. Already the Herne Bay, Point Chevalier and Tamaki Yacht Clnbs hive written to Sydney extending a hearty Invitation to the Waltemata and stating that, together with most of the local clnbs, they will put on races for the visitors. „ Those of us who were only able to read of the Auckland boats' performances against the Sydney 18-footers last year will have the opportunity of seeing them racing.
