CAGE BIRD SOCIETY.
The first annual meeting of the Otahuhu Avieultural and Cage Bird Society attracted a big attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet showed that the society was in a particularly sound position with a steady increase in membership. Since its formation the society had held a lawn parade and four table shows, all of which had proved most successful, particularly the school children's section. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. C. R. Petrie, M.P.; vice-patron, Mr. H. T. Clements; president, Mr. George Hardy; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Johns, J. B. Graham and A. Murdoch; secretary, Mr. E. Harris; treasurer, Mr. W. Price; auditor, Mr. W. J. Dinnisoh, executive committee, Messrs. F. McKay, F. W. Grey, H. Biel, B. Humphries, W. Jameson, W. Nairn and R. Barclay.
