NATIONAL PARTY.
DANCE AT HO WICK
A successful dance arranged by th Howick branch of the New Zealam National party was held in the loca Town Hall on Wednesday. The decora tions, which were the work of Mrs. \\ I. Rutherford, transformed the hall int a bower of soft greenery and brigh flowers in the National party colours. The guests of honour were Mr. K. I Tenncnt, the selected national candi date for the Otahuhu electorate, an Mrs. Tennent. who was wearing a froc of floral chiffon. During the supper interval Mr. A. ( Trousdale, chairman of the Howie branch of the National party, made brief speech of welcome to Mr. and Mrs Tennent and to the many guests pit sent. Mr. Tennent, who was greete with loud applause, also spoke to th gathering for a few minutes. Mrs. Trousdale, on behalf of the mem bers, presented Mrs. Tennent with bouquet of spring flowers in tones c mauve and gold. Committee members present were:Miss Motion, chairman of the Howie Women's Organisation; Mrs. A. C. Trous dale, Mrs. Wyatt, Mrs. J. C. Littei Mrs. W. J. Rutherford, Miss H. L. Smit (committee).
