NEW CAPITAL ISSUES.
RETAIL TRADE IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) . RUGBY, August 31. New capital issues in August amounted to £2,184,057, as against £13,188,116 in ■fuly and £7,141,184 a year ago. The total for the first eight months of this year is £91,423,097. The value of retail trade in July exceeded the corresponding figures for 1937 by 3.6 per cent. The value ot' stocks was 2.1 per cent lower and employment was 2.2 per cent greater.
