AUSTRALIA WINS.
BASKETBALL TEST. FORTY GOALS TO ELEVEN. MELBOURNE, August 21. The Australian basketball representatives defeated the touring New Zealand team yesterday by 40 goals to 11. The match was played under Australian rules. The Australians' shooting at the net was mere accurate than that of the visitors. Til a New Zealand forwards were penalised for progression. The teams were: —- Australia.--Misses B. Doublas (captain), L. McConchie. R. Good, D. Eckart, J. Wood, M. Kicbter, M. Linton. New Zealand. — Misses M. Matangi (captain), J. Mitchell, M. Martin, M. Howe, J. Wilson, E. Neaine, E. Howard. The New Zealand team will sail from Sydney by the Matinganui on Tuesday. AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. A further series of matches in the Auckland Basketball Association's competitions was played at the Windmill Road courts on Saturday. All Training College maiehex were defaulted.
