UNEMPLOYMENT RATES. 1 (By IVTegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The standard rates of unemployment benefit are: —Under the age of 20, without dependents, 10/ a week; over 20. without dependents, £1; for a married man and wife, £1 15/; parents with one child. £2; with two children, £2 5/; with three children, £2 10/; and a further 5/ for each additional child under 10 years of age. The maximum rate of benefit is £4 for a man and wife and nine or more children. The standard rate of l>enefit will he adjusted according to the other income of the applicant. In those ca«e« where the wife is dead, and a housekeeper bas to be employed to care for the home, an allowance of 15/ a week may be pnul to a widower who empldys a housekeeper.
