TASMAN TO SAIL.

| PORT ALMA DUE ON MONDAY. TANKER JAMES STOVE. WANGANELLA OX WEDNESDAY. I The steamer Tasman, of the South j Pacific Line, whioli arrived yesterday [ afternoon from Saigon, Singapore, East j Indies and Norfolk Island with 80 pasj sengers and general cargo, is discharging [at Queen's wharf and will sail at noon I to-morrow for Wellington, Sydney and the East. To mark the entry of this vessel in the monthly service between New Zealand and the Xetherland Indies, liritish Malayn. and Saigon, Captain C. A. M. I. Kramers and .Messrs. Russell and Somers, Limited, local agents, will entertain a number of merchants and others interested in the Eastern trade on board this afternoon. The Port Line motor ship Port Alma left New Plymouth at 11 o'clock last night for Opua and Auckland. She arrives from Opua on .Monday morning to continue loading for London and West of England ports, and will sail from Lyttelton on August 31. The Norwegian motor tanker James Stove, which left Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, will arrive to-morrow evening and berth at Western wharf to complete discharge of petrol j rom Palenilmng for the Shell Oil Company. The Ilnddart-Parker motor ship Wanganella will leave Sydney at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow for Auckland and arrives early on Wednesday morning. She sails on her return to Sydney at noon on the following Saturday.

Matua, which sailed yesterday for Rarotonga and the Cook Group, is due back on August 24. (U.S.S. Co.)

South Africa, a Norwegian motor tanker, is due on Monday from Richmond, California, but has not yet reported.

The Auckland Harbour Board advises that tin* board's tug Te Awhina has sunk in 3} fathoms in a position 3<>7 degrees. 250 ft from the north-west corner of llobson wharf. This position is approximately 550 ft to the norlliward of the viaduct entrance and bridge.
