SCHOOLS CLOSE DOWN.
EIGHT IN CANTERBURY.
EFFECT OF ILLNESS,
(By Telegrnpli.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday.
Eight Canterbury schools have been authorised to close because half or more of the pupils are absent through illness, principally measles. Most of the schools concerned are email country schools, but they include Phillips town, a Christchurch suburban school, and Southbridge. The approach of the term holidays will mean that the curriculum will not be seriously affected.
