"£1,000,000" MAN.
THEFT ALLEGATION.
OTHER CHARGES PENDING. , LONDON. A man who, a few months ago, stated that he had been given £1,000,000 by an unknown woman to whom he had rendered a slight service, was accused at Higligate, X., of stealing as bailee.
It was stated that the charges were only two of many that would be pre' ferred against him. Kenneth Walter Dodd. aged 25, described as a fishmonger, of Brent Wav, Finch ley, was charged with stealing as bailee a refrigerator valued at £4» 8/ and a radiogram valued at £37 10/. Station-Inspector Taylor said Dodd stated that he had sold the refrigerator for £20, adding, "I was hard up." Dodd also said he sold the radiogram to the same man. When charged, he said, "That's right." Mr. Vyvyan Welle, applying for bail, said: "Dodd has a wife and two children." Inspector Taylor said, "Dodd has judgment summonses against him, and there are several matters which other people are after him for. There are at" least nine other offences." Dodd was remanded on bail.
