NATIONAL PARTY.
CERTSAL BRANCH. A musical afternoon was held on Wednesday in Penwomen's club rooms by the Social committee of the Central Branch, New Zealand National party. Mrs. Hugh Kasper presided and welcomed the guests. An address on the aims and objects of the National party was given by Dr. R. 6. Mcßlroy, after which pianoforte duets were rendered by Mr. Hulse and Mrs. H. V. Maadeno, recitations' by Misa Doreea Saandera and songß by Mrs. Humlrey Gordon, Mrs. Salisbury Sykes and Mrs. T. Buiseoa.
Mrs. Watts Ryn was convener and was assisted by the ladies of the committee, Mesdames O. Wildish, M. P. Wakeman, J. Lewis, St. Clair Woollams, J. Jenkp, H. Hillier, P. J. North, R. Wrigley, H. Pegler, Hanyside and V. T. Maadeno.
1 losar women. A very enjoyable bridge evening wai held this week at the New Zealand Natktnal party rooms, Shoftlantfc Oiseet. The guests were welcomed on. arrival by the president, Mrs. K A. Miythi. The committee present wera Mesdames N. P. Williamson, T. Clark, Lindsay Anderson, Cliffton Clarke, W. Pool, R. D. Comie. The priae winners were:— Contract, Mrs. C. Jensen; auction, Mrs. T. Guthrie.
Among the player* were MesdaAtes J. A. C. Allum, B. W. Croker, R. W. Carson, J. Perreau, Brown Morris, W. Snedden, J. Pool, H. Simm, B. Paull, W. Bates, A. Carter, W. S. Brodcway, and Misses Evelyn Turner, Veda Hooker, P. Aikman, N. Thompson, P. Jaffrey, W. Tippetts, and E. Roberts.
OTAHUHU. A highly successful card evening, organised by the ladies' committee of the Otahuhu branch of the National party, was held in tld Kingsford Hall. Comfortably arranged as a lounge a most enjoyable time was Bpent by the many supporters. Mr. A. T. McLaren was cardroom steward, and the. success- j ful players were Mrs. E. Elliott and Mr. J. Cowp«r.
