HOCKEY FUNCTION.

MOUNT EDEN CLUB.

An At Home tendered to its patrons, vice-patrons, president and vice-prcsi dents by the Mount Eden Hockey Club held in the Symondsville ballroom proved thoroughly enjoyable and was well attended. The cosy, hall with its decorations and multi-coloured lights suitably lent itself to a most jovial and sociable evening, during which little Miss Lola Simmonds gave exhibitions of tap dancing and acrobatic dancing, and Mr. Owen Jensen sang several songs. An apology was received from the patron, Sir Ernest Davis, for the absence of himself and Lady Davis owing to the accident to their eon, Mr. Desmond Davis.

The club's president, Mr. W. Rankin, with hie sister, Mrs. W. Ritchie, welcomed the guests of the evening, included in which were the vice-patron, his Worship the Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. R. J. Mills and Mrs. Mills; vicepatron, Mr. A. C. Johns, and Mr*. Johns; vice-president, Mr. J. Callum, and Mrs. Callum; vice-president, Mr. F.' E. Kretschmar, and Mrs. Kretschmar-vice-president, Mr. A. D. Comes, and Miss Comes; vice-president, Mr. F Crothall, and Mies Crothall; vice-presi-dent, Mr. G. C. Malcolm and Mrs. Malcolm ; vice-president, Mr. C. Cowan, and Mrs. Cowan; vice-president, Mr. P. R. Jenkins, and Mrs. Jenkins; vice-patron, Mr. J. Sayegh; vice-president, Dγ! Fuschmann: Mr. L. H. Norton, president Auckland Hockey Association; Mr. A. Biddle, president Auckland Hockev Referees' Association; Mr. and Mrs. F E. Willoughby, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Carson, Mr. and Mrs. F. Lawson, Mr. and Mrs. W. Ritchie, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Maxwell and Mre H. Horspool. Also included among the guests were cadet members of the hockey team from the s.s. Nardana.
