IN GREAT FORM.
E. BARTLE LEADING.
HEADS SYDNEY JOCKEYS.
HIS MOUNTS RUSHED.
E. Bartle, first horseman for J. T. Jamieson's stable, last week rode three winners at Victoria Park from seven mounts, six of which were favourites. He was then leading on the jockeys' list for the closing season, five and a half wins in front of E. McMenamin.
Race clubs r.ow recognise Bartle as a great drawcard. «I attribute to-dav's very satisfactory attendance at Victoria Park largely to the presence of Bartle," said the secretary of the club, Mr. W Donohoe last week. Bartle has never ridden with more vigour or enterprise than at present. Apparently this is reflected in the eagerness of owners and trainers to secure his services for wellfancied horses.
The public rushes his mounts in the bettmg ring, and books are alwavs (cautious when quoting his mounts. His day's work resulted:—First race, Knight Folly, favourite, won; second race, Best Man, equal favourite, second; third race, Koriinako, favourite, badly interfered with, fifth; fourth race, Poly Joy, favourite, never likely, sixth; fifth race, Scooter, favourite, won; sixth race, Neupac, even-money favourite, won; seventh race, Patusan, equal second favourite, led to turn, finished sixth. Surprisingly, McMenamin had only three mounts—Pat, Bonny Boy, and Waving.
None of them was a public favourite, and all finished unplaced.
