The quagmSrisb etate of the track prevented the: majority of hones appearing yesterday for the final trial* before the Poverty Bay Tiirf Club'e meeting.' The course was under water last week. .However, Native Song, ~ Miinicry and Gay Mimic went well.
The following visiting horses have arrived: Lovelilt, Pladie, Sunny Laee, Rapa Waiata* Royal Mimic and Gei Wind.
Miihala is engaged in both the hurdles and steeples, and no decision has been reached ae to which he will contest, but it will probably be the eteeplee. .:
Defore and Gold . Ballad covered four furlongs in 1.8. Pirima and Ballyculane did eolid pace work. Heaeketoon was going easily alongside Professional over four iuilongs in 1.0. Birkology and-Syncopate did half a mile in Iβ, Song (Clifford) and Mimicry (Atkins) occupied 52 3-5s for half a mile, which was easily the beet of the morning. 'Native Song had the inside running, but appeared to be doing the better at the finieh. Gay Mimic was going nicely at the end of half a mile in ftto.
