ELLERSLIE TRIALS.
el Msnrxxx. sprints. SMART THREE FURLONGS. The weather was fine for training at Ellerslie this morning,'but a cold wind made conditions rather unpleasant. No. 3 grass track was open, the going being holding. Armacourt (Gough) and Atta Jack (August) ran home from the six-furlong post in 1.26 1-5. They took 56 3-5s for the laat half mile and Armacourt was under a strong pull. El Meynell (Ritchie) went particularly well while running three furlongs in 37e. He is due to have his next outing at the Pakuranga meeting in August. Electric Spear (R. Fearn) finished up a useful task by running his last three furlongs in 40 4-ss. The stablemates Wee Pat and Knight of Australia strode over their last six furlongs in 1.24 2-5. They were going comfortably, and both worked well. Tybalt (Gilchrist) cantered round to the half-mile poet and came home,in,s4 l-ss. The gelding will be in good order for spring racing. Piracy (Murray) and the Musketoott gelding, in R. S. Bagby's stable reeled off three furlongs in 40 3-58. There was little between them at the finish. Valmint (Cammick) was timed to run half a mile in 52 4-ss. He had a bit fn reserve at the finish. Mv Money (R. Fearn) and Jolly Dance completed a round in 1.51 4-5. They were together at the finish after running their l.ist three furlonors in 42 l-ss. As usual Fleetwind (Gilchrist) rwqtere'l the best time over half a mile, t.-'Hng 51 4-"s, the last three furlonsrs covered in 38s. Tllumani (Mark-. cornol® f .ed half a mile in 555. tak'nir 40 3-5s for the last furlongs. This more has dope well recently. *
On the sand Kilonea (McTavish) and Land ..Girl (McCurdy) completed the last six'furlongs of their work in 1.26 2-5, and Valspear (Jones) traversed seven furlongs in 1.38 1-5, 'the last half mile occupying 55 3-sb. , (,j . ■ ...... . ;■ .
