CONFERENCE OF GROWERS.

HASTINGS, Tuesday. The record fruit crop and the increased business transacted by the federation were points stressed et the annual provincial conference of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation today.

Interesting reference tm made by Mr. x. Paynter, who visualised that the day was not far distant when fruit export from Hawke'e Bay would touch the half-null loll mark. Mr. Paynter said that the turnover for the past season had been a record for the federation and for Hawke'a Bay. The turnover of the Hawke s Bay branch had been £58,260, the previous record of £29,000. The crops in the district this year had been a record and export figures for Hawkris Bay were also a record. Increased costs were worrying orchardrets and had it not been for the local over-ell guarantee Of 5.2 d a case growers would have been in a serious position.
