ROSKILL CUP TO G. L. BAYLET. The third and final round of the 54hole medal contest for the Roskill Cup was plaved by members of the Akarana Golf Club. Finishing in grand style with a net 70, G. L. Bayley forced his way to the front with an aggregate of 220. Next in line were H. G. Lovell, 222 ; D. Coyle, 228; T. Mitchell, 225 ; M. B. Thorpe, 225 ; A. D. Barber. 225 ; and A. G. Rylands, 225. The second round of the handicap match play competition for the Edwards Trophy resulted as follows: —D. K. Duncan (11) beat I. W. Houston (8), 3 and 2; H. Cullen (7), beat F. H. Preston (7) at the nineteenth ; P. Quiiin (4) beat J. E. Cashmore (8), 3 and 2; C. Shenkin (8) beat J. R. H. Biss (5), 4 and 2 ; E. J. Hewitt (24) beat A. B. O. Saunders (7), 1 up; T. In the semi-final of the Coltman Cup L. ,T. Bryant beat A. W. Wyness on the eighteenth green by the margin of 2 up.

COLTMAN CUP FINAL.

SUCCESS OF H. G. LOVELU The final of the handicap match play competition for the Coltman Cup was played over :S6 holes on the Akarana links during the week-end, when H. G. Lovell (lit) defeated L. J. Bryant (2) on the thirty-sixth green by the narrow margin of 1 up. Despite two fine rounds of 7(> and 74 by Bryant he found the concession of 13 strokes in each round a difficult problem. Lovedl made good use of his strokes in the morning round to gain a three-hole advantage, and the position remained unchanged to the turn in the afternoon. Bryant, ! however, reduced the deficit to one Loleyn notching wins at the twentveighth and thirtieth, but missed an oppoVluuity of squaring the match when he failed to find the cup with a short putt at the thirty-first. Lovell then held his slender lead to the thirty-sixth where he gained the necessary half, and the mutch, with the aid of his final stroke.

PUPUKE CLUB. A medal round played in conjunction with the lirst round for the Hawes Cup (three rounds eclectic). The best medal curd was returned by R. Pacey, 74— Other cards returned were : M. Grant SO —20—70; H. M. Ryder, 00—20—70; J. Drought, SO—9—7l ; and W. D. Ross. 81—10—71. The medal round for a special trophy for handicaps 14 and under was won by R. Pacey. H. M. Ryder'beat C. H». Palmer 2 and 1, and J. Drought beat M. Grant 1 up in the third round for the Bell Cup. W. J. Thompson beat E. W. Mills 1 up, and I. Howden beat K. Durham 3 and 2 in the se-cond round of the captain's prize. G. Clark beat M. Walker 1 up in the I second round of the Pupuke Cup. An opea Stableford scramble was won by G. Clark with a card of 18, 18—36, ORAKEI CLUB. At Orakei a Stableford bogey resulted in .a win for D. A. Hengleigh with a card of 42. The next were W. Turfeott 34, h. Better 34, S. Obee 34, N. Crump 33, A. Sinellie 31. T. Stranger 31. PAPAKURA CLUB. ' A flag match played by the members of the Papakura Golf Club for J. P. Kidd'e trophy was won by G. Rowbottotn, who carried the flag to the eifc'hteeuth hole. The runner-up was J. S. Whyte. GLENDOWIE CLUB. A combined Stableford played at Glendowie for E. E. Nalder's trophies resulted In a win for O. Jones and D. McGregor with a card of 44, 23—C7. Other cards were:— J. Davis and S. Sheffield, 3C, 30—66; R. Ninkie and I. Beckbessijger. 30, 33—63; J. C Cleghorn and R. W. McCarthy, 38, 22—60 ; A Kiluare and H. Jolly, 48, 14—60. REMUERA CLUB. .. Two members holed oat in one at the Remuera linke. They ware G. Everett at the fourteenth, a hole of 145 yards, while J. Keane holed the teighteenth, 170 yards, in one. WAITEMATA CLUB. The final of the Lang Memorial Cup was played in conjunction with the senior and junior handicap qualifying rounds. The I winner of the cup was D. Corbett with a net score of 134 lor the 36 holes. CLEVEDON CLUB. The best card in the second qualifvlnir round of the Clevedon Club's champion'ship was that of T. Currie with a net score of 86. Other cards were: J. Colquhoun 87 and O. Smith 88. AUCKLAND CLUB. Scratch and handicap medal competitions were played at Middlemore, A. L. McLean winning the former with a card of 73, and R. M. Darling the latter with 87—20—67; A. L.
