Monetary Relations Between Britain and U.S.A. EMPHATIC REFUTATION.
NEW YORK, July 14.
An official of the United States Government yesterday_definitely quashed two . rumours affecting monetary relations between Britain and America, says trfl Washington correspondent of the "New York Times."
First, it'was denied.that a monetary clause in the reciprocal agreement providing for a definite relationship between the dollar and the pound is contemplated, and, secondly, the official said, the report that Britain was permitting the pound to drop to a new low level in order to stabilise it at that point was false and unfounded.
