She leaves next week for America via Panama. • • • • Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Banchop, of Wellington, are staying at the Grand Hotel, accompanied by their son, who sail* for England on the Trojan Star this week-end. ♦ • • • Miss L. M. Bird, A.K.R.C., of Wellington, is visiting Otorohanga. She served in Egypt during the Great War, and was also at Codford, England. For 10 years ehe was matron of the Evelyn Firth Home for invalid soldiers, resigning on revisiting England and Europe. She returned to New Zealand a few months ago.
