DUTCH SERVICES. AUSTRALIA-LONDON IN 3 DAYS THE HAGUE. June 30. Australia to London in three davs in 040 or 1041. was the promise made bv Mr. lie-man. managing director of the Royal Dutch Air Line (K.L.M.) here today. He was speaking at the Netherlands Government's banquet to Sir Karle Mr. T. W. White. Minister for trade, and the-Agents-General, to mark the opening of the Australia-Holland service. Mr. Plesnian gave the toast of -Success to Imperial Airwavs and Oantas." emphasising the good relations of the British Empire to the Dutch companies, which would provide Australia with at least live services to Europe weekly. The Public Works Minister. Mr. van Buuren, who presided, testified to the Dutch Government's gratitude to the Commonwealth for facilitating communications between the two countries, whose interests in the Pacific were so close.
Sir Earle Page, replying, pointed out that the Dutch -Australia frontier in Xew Guinea was the only one in the world without Customs ' officers and frontier officials, symbolising a very friendly understanding. He commented on the fact that many Dutch were settling in Australia from the East Indies and declared that the Commonwealth was prepared to consider any immigration agreement between Australia and Holland, enabling inhabitants of Holland itself to settle in Australia. STALIN'S CONGRATULATIONS. (Received 11 a.m.) MOSCOW, July 3. Three Red Army airwomen flew a single-engined seaplane from Sebastopol to Archangel in 10 hours 33 minutes, at an average speed of 142.5 miles an hour. Stalin telegraphed his congratulations on their feat.
