NEW ELDER.
CHIKBgE ORDAINED.
In the presence of a large congregation, Mr. C. Y. Kwok Mas last night ordained as an elder of the Auckland Chinese Presbyterian Church by the Rev. R. Ferguson Fish, moderator of the session of the Chinese Church. The ceremony took place in the Mawson Memorial Hall. When the usual ritual questions had been asked, Mr. Fish recited the ordination prayer. The elder*, among whom was Sir Albert Ellis, then extended the right hand of fellowship to Mr. Kwok.
The moderator gave a short address on the duties and historic associations of eldership, and then the Rev. Y. S. Chau, minister of the Chinese Church, expressed the tbatiks of his congregation to Mr. Fish and others who had taken part in the service.
