PETER PAN.
The cheery setting of the ballroom and the enlivening music of Lanri Paddi's band contributed to the enjoyment of dancers at the Peter Pan Cabaret on Saturday evening. Jazz waltzes and fox trots comprised the programme, and old and new melodies were effectively syncopated. Amongst specially orchestrated features were "In Old Chicago'' and "A Little Co-operation from You," while Johnny Madden's singing of descriptive ballads was another appreciable item of the entertainment. Skilful instrumental adaptations by the "International Five" also sustained the evening's gaiety. Diffused lighting enhanced the effects.
Among those present were: Mesdames R. Close, Thompson, R. Burt, N. Jerrome, A. Neville, Scott, Misses Ena Hockey, Mavis Wilson, M. Dickey, J. Madill, S. Martin, T. Lovatt, Mavis and Phyllis Oakes, Hazel Jeffries, Violet Lewis, Ailsa Conway, Stone, B. Rowe, Peggy McNamara, Jane Head, M. Gill, Joy Cooper, Dorothy Smith, McKenzie, Peace Matthews, Althea Arnott, Vera Evans, Gay Mudge, B. Pennell, Violet Sharp, N. Ogle, Ryan, S. and T. Moller, G. Gallotte, Ryan, Pat Aldridge, M. Thompson.
