EMPLOYMENT OF BOYS.

The juvenile employment position at present displays a markedly changed aspect. No boys under 10 years are available for business houses, several of which have been waiting for some weeks for suitable applicants. On the other hand boys cannot readily find apprenticeships in what might be termed skilled artisan trades, and several excellent boys are continuing at school, hoping that suitable apprenticeship will offer. “The position of these young people is causing, vocational guidance officers considerable concern,” stated an officer of the association. “No boys are available for farm work, however attractive home conditions and the farm might be.”
