| HCLIDAY PAY ISSUE. STATEMENT IN COURT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. That over £lOO.OOO holiday pay for factory workers was involved in the interpretation of a section of the Factories Act coming before the Court of Appeal, was mentioned by Mr. L. Aiderton in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. The case involved a claim which depended on the Appeal Court s decision, and was adjourned sine <’-le. Mr. Aiderton appeared for the NewZealand Farmers’ Fertiliser Company, which was sued by the inspector of factories at New Plymouth, Mr. F. Wilson, for a penalty respecting an alleged breach of the Taranaki chemical manure and acid workers’ award, in that the company employed A. W. Jones and seven others during the period ending December 20, 1937, and failed to pay them for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
