ROTARY REUNION.
FORMER MEMBERS’ DAY. TRIBUTE TO FOUNDERS. The main feature of the weekly Rotary’ lunch meeting held to-day in Milne and Choyce’s reception hall was the inclusion among the' visitors of a number of ex-Rotarians, this being known as “Ex-members’ Day.” They received a special welcome, the president, Rotarian Harold Thomas, stating that the function was an annual one. Present members, he said, recognised that the club had been singularly fortunate in the standard set by those who had been responsible for its inauguration and the administration in its earlier years.-
Congratulations were extended to Rotarian J. A. C. Allum upon his nomination to the position of deputyMayor.
The president also referred to the regret felt by’ members at the recent death of Sir George Richardson. ‘ Other visitors present were: Messrs. T. R. .Catley (London), F. R. Kitto (Sarawak), F. G. Cleary (Shanghai), A. R. Russell (Gisborne), A. Todd, Gilchrist (Ashlatrton), W. Stevenson (Dunedin), and Colonel Loach (Christchurch). \
The speaker of the day was Sir James Gunson, whose subject was, “In and Out of Rotary.”
The vote of thanks was moved by Rotarian T. Law.
