SYDNEY, this day. Mr. Hudson Fysh, managing director of Qantas Empire Airways, said that when the tri-weefely flying boat service between Britain and Australia is in full operation in August, there will be ample accommodation for all mail matter sent from NewZealand to Sydney for transit to London by air mail.
A message from Canberra on Thursday stated: Australia'* air mails for England, ■aid the Minister of Defence, Mr. H. V. Thorby, will have finst call on the space in the flying boats when the new Empire service from Sydney is inaugurated next month. QaiU-as Airways, he added, had contracted to carry all available Australian mails, and so long « the company fulfilled that obligation it was entirely free to make contracts with other parties for the carriage ofmaij and other freight. If the New Zealand Government wished to ship mails to Australia for transport by air to London, added the Minister, it would have to make its own agreement with the company, and the carriage of those mails would be dependent upon nying boat capacity to take them after providing for the Australian mails.
