Tributes to Late Sir George
Richardson.
MEMORIAL TO BE ERECTED

To perpetuate the memory of the late Sir George Richardson, former Administrator of Western Samoa, it is proposed to erect, by public subscription. a bronze tablet or other form of memorial.
Tributes are paid to the benefit of Kir George's administration, including his work for the banana industry. He inaugurated the hydro-electric plant, and the town water supply was installed and a wharf for local shipping was built during his regime. Village water supplies, improved sanitation and gifts of land to necessitous villages are also mentioned as acts not forgotten by the Samoans. He identified himself with the religions and social life of the people among whom he lived and worked.
