TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB.
FAREWELL TO CLUB MEMBER. j Mr. Peter McNeil, for the past five years a member of the committee of the Takapuna Boating: Club, was tendered a farewell by a number of friends prior to leaving for England to join the Royal Air Force. Major Whitehorn, president of the club, conveyed their best wishes lor a successful career to Mr. McNeil, and asked his acceptance of a travelling trunk and rug. Tributes to the work of Mr. McNtil were paid by the commodore. Mr. H. M. Green, and by" Mr. W. A. Johnston, past-commodore and president of the club. Mr. McNeil thanked members for their gifts and good wishes, and said the association with officers and members of the club nad been a great pleasure. During the evening refreshments were served by the ladies' committee. Mr. McNeil leaves by the Remuera for London on July 2.
