FIRM MARKET.
MUTTON AT SMITHFIELD. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business this week: — The wether market is short of supplies and prices are nominal. Ewes are firmer for heavy-weights, and it is thought that lamb prices will remain steady at present quotations. Wethers: Light, 5%d to (>d per lb; heavy. 4'/&d to sd. Ewes: 3d to 4d. Lambs: Twos, 7\6d to 7%d; eights, 7%d to 7%d; fours, 7%d to 7%d; seconds, 7%d to 7%d.
