BILLIARDS CONTEST.
MELBOURNE, June 17,
Playing in the British Empire am at cuibilliards championship at Melbourne to-night, S. Moses (New Zealand), 1228, was unlucky to lose to M. M. Begg (India), 1422. The New Zealander was down 300 half an hour before the finish, but ; recovered brilliantly. He miscued. however, and ruined his chance of winning. j In the first round of the invitation billiards handicap tournament another match was played off last night in the \ ulcan billiards parlour, when H. .T. Rve defeated M. Groat after a close contest. . On Monday night L. Holdsworth will play F. Bax, and on Tuesday evening C. I Cummins is matched ■ - iainst J. Molloy. '
