FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. i The Government Meteorologist Issued to the " Auckland Star " this afternoon the following special j weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Tauranga and t'.awhia:— ■ Light to moderate but freshening northerly to north-westerly windsWeather fair to fine at first, but later clouding over and rain probable within about 24 hours. Temperatures rather milder. Seas slight to moderate, but rising on the west coast. A deep westerly depression with a considerable northward extension is . now approaching the southern portion of the South Island. It is apparently being followed by one or inore secondary depressions. i HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tirltirl Island at noon s to-day:— Wind, northerly, light; sea, smooth; weather, fine and clear, with scattered clouds; visibility, good; barometer, steady.
