BIGGER TURNOVER. [' I OIL SHARES ACTIVE. ALSO WOOLWORTHS RIGHTS. Since noon yesterday there lias been a marketl increase in turnover, but activity has been centred mainly on a few speculative l : nes, ami the general market tone l:as not improved. At this morning's call T.uanaki Oils were apain in keen demand, ; sales being made at 14/3 and 14,4, with a later market between 14,2 and 14/4. Mot ui ca Oils had buyers at 6/1, with BtHei!- asking 2d higher. ' Bidding for Woolwerths property lights was particularly brisk, and a dozen parcels were placed with fluctuations from 3 8 to 3.9, then back to 3/7. The banking section was quiet, with buyers for New Zealands stopping at £2 3,', and in the insurance section the only inquiry was for Xew Zealands at £2 IT/. P. and O. deferred stock was again on offer at £ 1 7/, and a buyer came in at £1 5/. Breweries continued dull, the only buyer being for Tooth's at £2 12 6. Dominions were on offer at £1 17/. Australian issues generally were dull, but Mount Morgans improved, with business in the ordinaries at 8/4 and 8/5 and in the preferences si- 13/4. Slow; Down at Noon. Business slowed down at the noon call, and the general trend of the market was weaker. Australians were most affected. Electrolytic Zincs and Colonial Sugars sold at slightly reduced figures, while Broken Hill Proprietary slipped further and closed between £2 16/6 and £2 17/9. Kauri Timbers were an exception, selling ex dividend at £1 0/8, -with more buyers at the same figure.
