MOUNT ALBERT RATES. SATISFACTORY TOSITIOX. Despite increases in outside levies, no increase in rates will ho necessary in the .Mount Albert borough for the current year. 'J his was the information contained in a report l>v Mr. F. K. Watts, eliairnian ot the legal and finance committee, which wan adoptc<l by the Mount Albert Borough Council last night. The consolidated rate now stands at 3 4 fxi ir. the £. levied oil the capital value, and the report stated that the maintenance of the old level had been possible because the year had concluded with a satisfactory credit balance. J he committee, the report stated, had made provision for various works. Ainonjr tliem were: Public works, maintenance and parks, £9000; provision of bowlinpr preens at Cribble-Hirst Park. £850; linking tip water mains, £570; public services and town planning, £150 —aggregate total, £10.570. In moving the adoption of the report, the Mayor. Mr. 11. A. Anderson, stated that the position revealed was mot-t satisfactory.
