HAND SHATTERED.
STUMFaHO accident. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, Tuesday. Mr. Maxwell, of Torere, received a badly shattered left hand while engaged at stumping this morning. His companion, Mr. H. Tamati, was cooking his breakfast in a tent while Mr. Maxwell went to a stump about 200 yards away. Mr Maxwell was engaged at ramming sodium into the stump when the explosion took place. The injured man was admitted to the Opotiki Hospital
