FLAIR FOR CATTLE.

"FED-UP" WITH SCIENCE. LEADING BREEDER'S START. (Special.—By Air Mall.) LONDON, May 21. A youth who eight years ago ran away from college because he was "fed up'' with studying science, is now one of England's most successful cattle breeders. He is 32-year-old Alec Galbra ith, genial, red-faced, 22-stone agent for Lady Robinson, of Kirklington Hall, Newark, 'Nottinghamshire. In 1929 his father sent him to the Midland Agricultural College to study for his Bachelor of Science degree. At the end of twelve months young Alec came home and told his father he had finished with hia studies. Alec met Lady Robinson, widow of Sir John Robinson, brewer and racehorse breeder; convinced her of the future of the Aberdeen Angus cattle breed as first-rate producers of meat and milk. He became Lady Robinson'-i agent, toured the country to find a foundation herd. In Edinburgh he bought a stock bull, Prince Ben of Boghead, for 200gs. Experts told him he had made a mistake; Alec Galbraith claimed he had made a bargain. The progeny of Prince Ben have since won 200 first prizes and 50 championships at agricultural shows in three years.

In the Aberdeen Angus classes at the Oxfordshire County Agricultural show this week he took all the prizes. With six animals he wen a championship, four firsts and a fourth prize.
