DAIRY PRODUCE. MINISTER'S ASSURANCE. ADOSZM TO FAKMBM(By Telegraph.--o*a Correspondent.) HAMILTON*, this d*v. "Stabilisation of costs cannot txaccomplished because of many unforeseen contingencies. The recent outbreak of facial eczema is a case in |*oint," stated the Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, when speaking at Horsham Downs last evening. The Minister said the Government wa* not adopting a dogmatic attitude, but was making an earnest endeavour to stabilise the position of the farmer. The only difference between the compensating price proposals ami the guaranteed price was the wording. "The party which is now condemning the Government is the one which smashed dairy c-ontfol," added the Minister. "That was the forerunner of many disasters. The policy of the National party is ruthless deflation.'' The Minister vigorously defended other points of the Government's achievements, and was accorded a vote of thanks.
