PRESENTATION.
GLEN EDEN GATHERING. An interest ins function took place in tlie Coronation Hal!, (<len Eden, last evening when a presentation of an easy chair, valise and an afternoon tea set was made to Mr. T. <!. Hamilton, on behalf of parents, scholars and friends of the (!len Eden School. A large gathering assembled. Mr. S. (1 «'gg. in making the presentation. spoke of the great interest that Mr. Hamilton had taken in all matters of interest to the welfare and progress of the children during the seven years of his term on the teaching staff. Past and present scholars greeted Mr. Hamilton with musical honours. Mr. F. C. Day (past headmaster) and Mr. Jaffrey (present) made eulogistic references to the splendid spirit of co-operation that had always existed between them. A programme of selected items was presented, consisting of songs, elocutionary items, mouth organ selections, fancv i dancing by the school children and | humorous items by Mr. Cleg". Mr. .J. H. j Harding presided. Refreshments were served by the ladies' committee. GOLD WATCH FRO'l FIRM. Mr. Chris. Brown, who yesterday comI pleted 2<> years' service with (.'eorge I Court and Sons, Limited, of Karangaliape Road, was presented with a gold watch by the directors of the firm in recognition of his long service. This : makes the 29th similar presentation to ! members of the staff who have been with i the firm for 2ft years. i
