HANDSOME MODEL

DUTCH SHIP HOUTMAN,

SISTER TO THE TASMAN. Measuring 10ft overall, and enclosed in a glass display case, a scale builders' model of the Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatechappij steamer Houtman arrived from Batavia in the South Pacific Line passenger motor ship Maetsuyckcr this morning. An exceptionally fine replica of the Houtman—exact to the most minute detail-—the ship is of interest in Auckland, as she is a sister ship to the Tasman, which is to operate to _New Zealand from the Netherlands East Tndies in conjunction with the Maetsuyckcr' in August. The service at present is being maintained by the Swartenhondt.

Originally in the run between Sydney and Singapore, now served by the Nieuw Zeeland and Nieuw Holland, the Tasman has accommodation for- SO passengers and is installed with six insulated chambers.' The Swartenhondt makes her last vpyage here next month, ,
