FEES EVADED.
HAWKERS AND PEDLARS. PAPAKURA TAKES ACTION. "There are a lot of hawkers and liedlars selling all sorts of stuff in our town and we are getting no license fees from them, said the Mayor, Mr. S. Evans, at the Papakura Borough Council meeting Jast evening. Shopkeepers have to pay rent and these hawkers are makinn serious inroads into their turnover. Mr. J S. de Montalk said hawkers came into the town in flash cars and got a high price for their waro3 off innocent housewives. Something should be done to get their license fees It was decided to seek the co-opera-tion of the members of the council, the staff and building inspector to see that every hawker pedalling his wares in the town took out a license.
