ENGLAND CAN WIN
GENERAL FEELING
McCabe Equalled Bradman
At His Best,
CAN AUSTRALIA DRAW? United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON", June 13. "England can win now," says P. G. H. Fender, in a Fleet Street placard, summarising the general feeling that victory is assured, but the Australian Associated Press says that, thanks to MeCabe, who played the innings of a lifetime, Australia, while not yet out of danger may be able to force a draw.
McCabe's play was remarkable, not only for its spectacular boldness, but for the extraordinary acuteness with which lie sized up the situation and kept piling up runs when the tail-enders came in. Even when towards the close he was obliged to hit almost with recklessnessi he retained his beauty of stroke-mak-ing. Bradman at his best could have I done nothing. greater. | The Australian Associated Press says England's fielding was better than that of the Australians.
