Racing Car Crashes Into Crowd At Sydney. WOMAN AND CHILDREN KILLED SYDNEY, June 13. A racing car doing SO miles an hour dashed over the embankment at Penrith speedway to-day into a crowd of spectators, and killed a woman and her two grandchildren and injured 12 others. Tlie crowd of over 10,000 was horrified when the ear, driven by W. James, skidded and bounced high over the parapet and finished upright in tlie centre of a moaning group' of picnickers, scattering scores of other people. James was practically uninjured.

The smash occurred only a few minutes after another car driven by F. Foss had hurtled over the edge of the track, somersaulted several times, and flung Fosa and his mechanic yards away. The car was wrecked.

Those dead are Mrs. W. Jones, of Fivedock, and her grandchildren, Walter and Pamela Baker, aged two and five months respectively.

The injured include Mrs. Josephine Baker, who suffered a broken leg and head injuries and is in a critical condition; Betty Jones, aged seven, fractured leg; F. Foss, 27, fractured thigh arid concussion; H. Harris, 45, fractured ribs. Others are suffering from head and leg injuries and severe shock.

, Donald Bain, aged 33, whose motor cycle somersaulted on the speedway, suffered a fractured skull.
