EMPIRE AIRWAYS,
Inauguration of EnglandAustralia Service.
MAIL ONLY AT FIRST. British Official Wireless. (Received 12 noon.) RUGBY, June 13. It has been announced that the last section of the new Empire ftying boat route between England and Australia will be inaugurated 011 July 2, when the first Qantas Empire Airways flying boat leaves Singapore for Sydney. It will arrive at Sydney on July 5. The service will be operated with Short Empire flying-boats of the same type as those already in service as far as Singapore.
A cable from Sydney states that the Minister of Defence, Mr. H. V. Thorby, announced that only mail will he carried until the full service of three days a week begins, some time "in August, j
